A weeklong film festival featuring films based on Tagore’s writings began on Saturday at the EMK Center in Dhanmondi.
The programme jointly organised by EMK Center and International Academy of Film and Media will screen five films
and a documentary on Tagore’s biography.
Renowned film critic Anupam Hayat delivered a lecture on films based on Tagore’s works at the opening ceremony.
The lecture was followed by screening of Satyajit Ray’s documentary Rabindranath Tagore. Tapan Sinha’s film Kabuliwala was screened on Sunday evening.
Satyajit Ray’s film Charulata will be screened today at 4:00pm. Ray’s another film Teen Kanya (1961) will be screened tomorrow at the same time. Rituporna Ghosh’s two films Chokher Bali and Noukadubi will be screened on July 24 and July 25 respectively.
