The Zakat Foundation of America, a US-based charity organisation, recently distributed 40 sewing machines among poor women of Hajaribag slum who participated in its training programme.
The foundation also distributed food packages
and new clothes among 100 poor families as Eid gifts.ZFA country director to Bangladesh Nahida Sultana said the foundation would provide sewing machine to everybody who would participates in their training programme to empower the women.
‘We are working to empower women and providing them with earning means,’ she said.
She also said the foundation would distribute 100 rickshaws in poor families of Netrakona on July 28.
