Khaldea Zia, the leader of opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party now in Saudi Arabia, performed Umrah in Makkah early on Thursday and prayed for welfare of Bangladesh and the Muslim Ummah.
She, along with her entourage including her younger brother Shamim Eskendar and his wife, performed Umrah at about 3:10am Saudi local time on Thursday, sources inBNP unit of Saudi Arabia said.
On Wednesday, Khaleda left Madinah for Makkah where she will be staying till August 5. She is scheduled to return home on August 6.
She left Dhaka on July 27 for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah at the invitation of the Saudi government.
