Awami League does not support any extrajudicial killing.‘The drama staged by RAB claimed the lives of
two people on Wednesday,’ he said while addressing a discussion organised by Nouka Samarthak Ghosthi at the Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh in the capital.
Two people, including HM Zahid Siddique alias Tarek, were killed in a ‘shootout’ with the members of Rapid Action Battalion in the city’s Khilkhet area on Wednesday night.
Suranjit said with the national election nearing, the opposition will spread propaganda against the Awami League cashing in on the extrajudicial killings.
He also said those who lost their lives in RAB’s crossfire had the right to get justice.
The veteran ruling party leader said the killing of Juba League leader Milky by his party colleagues will incite people’s hatred towards the ruling party while rally support for the BNP.
Milky, 43, the organising secretary of the Dhaka city (south) unit of Juba League, was shot dead allegedly by Tarek and another party men in the capital’s Gulshan area on Tuesday.
Tarek was seen on the closed-circuit camera at the entrance of Shoppers World at Gulshan shooting Riazul Haque Khan Milky dead.
The Awami League organising secretary, Ahmed Hossain, among others, addressed the discussion held with Bangabandhu Sangskritk Jote leader Fatema Jaman Sathi in the chair.
