Tamim Iqbal scored 33 at the top order, but his St Lucia Zouks fell short of the target posted by the Antigua Hawksbills, losing by 33 runs in Gros Islet on Tuesday.
Johnson Charles and Devon Thomas led Antigua with 36 and 32 runs respectively to take the visitors to 166/6. Marlon Samuels then bowled a masterful spell to stymie the hosts, finishing with figures of 3/10 from four overs. St Lucia finished with 133/8 after 20 overs.
In his two previous Caribbean Premier League matches, Tamim scored 22 runs in the Zouks’ opening game loss to the Barbados Tridents and misfired for just 6 in the win over the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
