A case was filed with Patuakhali judges court on Sunday against Golam Moula Rony, MP of Patuakhali -3 and 13 others, including his brother and members of his ‘Bhaiya Bahini’ on charges of misappropriating Taka 79 crore. The case was filed by A Jamal Hossain of Dasmina village of Patuakhali with the district judges court. The court took cognizance of the case .Sources said, Rony had misappropriated Tk 79 crore from Test Relief (T R) and the governments ‘Food for Work’ programme for the ultra poor.
Defence lawyer Abdul khalek said, the case was filed under anti-corruption law and it will be transferred to anti corruption commission (ACC) for investigation.
Golam Moula Rony interned at Kashimpur jail facing trial on charges of assaulting two journalists of the Independent television last month at the entrance of his business office in Dhaka.
They were from the Talash programme of the Independent TV investigating corruption charges against him.
