Bangladeshi golfers Sajib Ali and Nazim Hossain will participate in the 126th Amateur Golf Championship in Sri Lanka, which begins on August 19.
Sajib, who is Bangladesh’s top-ranked amateur golfer, said that the five-day competition will be held in eight rounds and will feature amateur golfers from the Indian subcontinent, Malaysia and Myanmar.
The first two days’ play will be a 36-hole team event. The top 32 participants will move to the individual knockout rounds.
‘Nazim and I are the top ranked players, so we will take part in the tournament aiming to win the title. We
are hopeful that we will do well,’ said Sajib, who has been preparing for the tournament with Nazim for the last two months.
Bangladesh Golf Federation joint secretary Colonel (retd.) Sarder Hasan will accompany the golfers to the tournament.
