A local activist of Jubo League was chopped to death by unknown miscreants in Raojan upazila on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Mobarak Hossain, 38, a resident of Noapara Chowdhuryhat area in the upazila. Witnesses said a gang of armed terrorists swooped on Mobarak and chopped him with sharp weapons when he was gossiping with his party men at Noapara Chowdhuryhat around 7:45pm, leaving him dead on the spot.Mobarak’s company Jasim was also injured as the attackers hacked him as he tried to resist them.
Critically injured Jasim was admitted to a local private clinic.
Assistant police super Nizam Uddin (Hathazari circle) said Mobarak might have been killed by his party rivals over establishing supremacy in the locality.
