Eminent journalist Nazim Uddin Mostan died at his journalist colony residence at Mirpur in the city on Sunday afternoon. He was 65. Nazim Uddin Mostan, also a recipient of Ekushey Padak, left wife, a son, two daughters, grand children and a host of friends and admirers to mourn his death. One of the legendary figures in the country’s Journalism, Mostan began his career in the now dissolved Daily Awaz in 1968. He worked also in Daily Paigam, The Sangbad and later worked in the daily Ittefaq, where he was its Chief Reporter till 1998. Nazim Uddin Mostan suffered a serious of brain hemorrhage in1998 and had been suffering since then.He took his retirement from Ittefaq in 2006 .He edited a weekly newspaper Rastra in the eighties.Opposition leader Khaleda Zia expressed deep condolence over his death. The National Press Club and different other organisations also mourned his death.
