A Class X student was killed allegedly by his classmate over a love affair on Wednesday at Sreepur upazila in Gazipur. The deceased was identified as Sumon Mia, 14, son of Abul Kalam of village Barkul. The other two injured were Tushar Mia, 15, son of Monir Hossain of village Nandisayasangun and Dipu Mia, 15, son of Afsar Uddin of the area.Locals said that an enmity was prevailing between Sumon and his classmate Sagar over a love affair. They were the students of Trimohani BD High School.
On Wednesday, during class hour, Sagar attacked Sumon repeatedly with a knife.
Police rushed to the spot and rescued Sagar from mass beating.
Sumon died on his way to Shreepur Upazila Health complex.
The injured were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Sreepur upazila nirbahi officer Aziz Haydar Bhuyan, Assistant superintendnt of Shreepur Police Aktaruzzaman, Officer incharge of Shreepur Police Amir Hossain, sub inspector of Shreepur Police Rakan Islam was also injured by mass beating by the local people.
Sagar was shown in arrest, police said.
