A two-day anti-corruption conference was inaugurated at Dhaka University on Wednesday.
Vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the function titled ‘Dhaka Yes Conference-2013’ organised by the Transparency International Bangladesh at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban.
Arefin in his speech termed the grenade bomb attackers on the then opposition party Awami League leaders in August 2004 as the ‘most corrupted’.
Demanding early arrest and trail of the perpetrators, he asked the young generation to play a pivotal role in eradicating corruption from society.
TIB director Iftekharuzzaman chaired the programme, while the Daily Star editor Mahfuz Anam, and TIB outreach and communication director Rezwan-ul-Alam addressed the function among others.
Some three hundred young people from different parts of the country attended the programme.
