The Bangladesh A team bowlers conceded more than 300 runs for the third consecutive time against the England Lions in the third and final one-dayer in Taunton on Saturday.
The Lions posted 319-7 in their stipulated 50 overs as the Bangladesh A team bowlers failed to stop the flow of runs. Earlier in the first and second match of the series, the Lions had registered scores of 353-4 and 367-3 against the visitors.
The comparatively strong A team bowling-unit, comprising of three national cricketers, again proved to be expensive.
Pace bowler Robiul Islam picked up two wickets but went for 60 runs in his 10 overs. Ziaur Rahman also gave away nearly six runs an over in his quota of 10 overs while off-spinner Sohag Gazi was plundered for 70 runs from his 10 overs, picking up a solitary wicket.
Al Amin Hossain was the most successful A team bowler with three wickets but he too proved to be costly, conceding 70 runs in his 10 overs.
The Lions’ Gary Ballance continued to make merry of the A team bowlers as he struck a fine 102-ball 87 while he was ably supported by James Vince, who scored 63 runs from 70 balls.
