The 8th Ascent Corporate 5-A-Side Indoor Soccer Cup 2013 continued to produce a flurry of goals in the tournament’s second day at the STM Hall of Scholastica School’s Uttara Campus on Saturday.
Defending champions Beximco Pharmaceuticals put six goals past Unilever, Gemcon posted a 5-1 win over Mutual Trust Bank, Lanka Bangla Finance thrashed Aarong 7-0, Securex registered a 3-1 win over Grey while Chevron were held to a 1-1 draw by Swisscontact.
In the day’s other matches, Bando Design thumped Texmart 9-1, Ascent Group pipped Radio Foorti 4-3, IIDFC cruised past Santos-Sangu 10-2, Airtel cantered to a narrow 4-3 win against Qubee while Metronet beat Tesco Sourcing 2-0.
A total of 48 teams are taking part in the competition.
