Forum, a representative group of the district and divisional sports organisers, pledged their unity ahead of the Bangladesh Cricket Board election that is expected to take place sometime in September and October. In a press release given out on Monday, Forum general secretary Ashikur Rahman Miku claimed that the group was in harmony irrespective of any rebel members who might have promised their allegiance to the current BCB boss, Nazmul Hasan.
Nazmul is expected to face strong opposition in the election from Saber Hossain Chowdhury, a former BCB president.
As per the amended constitution, the divisional commissioners and the deputy commissioners of all the districts have been empowered to nominate the councillors in the election.
Nazmul assured the Forum officials that he was not trying to influence anyone to his side, rather he was interacting to prevent any undesired interference.
