Stressing the importance of district-wise development, speakers at a seminar here on Saturday said the role of public representatives is very important in development of any district. Development plans should be people-oriented ones. So, balanced development depends on how public representatives play their role, the speakers said at a seminar. ‘Mukta Akash’, an engineering, architectural and housing related magazine, organised the seminar titled ‘Planned urbanisation, housing and development: perspective Pabna’ at the city’s Planners Tower.
Shamsur Rahman Sharif, an MP from Pabna-4, said although Pabna is an ideally located town, it is still an ignored town.
He assured the town planners of providing his all-out cooperation in building Pabna town as a planned one.
Prof Dr Gulam Rahman, chairman of the Institute of Planners, said once Pabna was a golden town on the bank of the Padma River, but it did not get proper attention for development.
