Terming the 10th parliamentary election as ‘hard time’ for election commission, chief election commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad on Saturday said that the polling officials have to work in an impartial and transparent way in discharging their duties to hold a free and fair election. “It’s a mammoth task for the national election. A hard time is awaiting us. If we want to come out successful in this difficult test, the election officials must work in a transparent and neutral way,” CEC said.
Rakibuddin, as the chief guest, made the observation at the general meeting of the Bangladesh Election Commission services affairs association in the city.
Urging all election officials to work for the national interest, he said, “The national election would be held between November to January as per the constitution. You have to take preparation in line with it.”
