A three-day practice match between Bangladesh Cricket Board Green and Red teams begins today at Khulna’s Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium.
Mushfiqur Rahim’s BCB Green will take on BCB Red, captained by Mahmudullah, as a part of the national cricket team’s preparation for the upcoming home series against New Zealand in October.
The Tigers will take on the Black Caps in two Tests, three one-day Internationals and one Twenty20 match.
The teams arrived in Khulna on Monday with coach Shane Jurgensen. Sakib al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, who are sitting out the
game due to injury, did not make the trip.
The last time the Black Caps toured Bangladesh in 2010, they were whitewashed 4-0 by the hosts in the ODI series.
SANS venue manager Abdus Sattar Kochi said that the stadium is ready to host the practice game without any obstacles.
SANS became the country’s seventh Test venue when it hosted a Test match between Bangladesh and West Indies from November 21-25 last year.
