Two people were killed in separate accidents while an unidentified body was recovered in the Shahjalal International Airport area in Dhaka on Friday.
Of the deceased, Imdadul Haque, 30, son of Munsur Ali of Kurigram sadar, was killed in a road accident at Uttara, and Monindra Baroi, a timber worker of Nabinbagh of Khilgaon, was electrocuted.
Police could not confirm the sexagenarian’s identity whose body was recovered from a garden situated between Flying Club and VVIP complex of Shahjalal International Airport.
Imdadul Haque’s nephew Manjurul Islam said his uncle was killed in a road accident while he was crossing the road in front of BGB Market in Sector 7 at Uttara at around 3:45am on Friday.
He said a bus crushed Imdadul, leaving him dead on the spot. Later the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Morgue in the morning.
At Khilgaon, timber worker Monindra was electrocuted when he was working in the tin-shed roof of a house at 1/A, Nabinbagh, leaving him critically injured at around 10:30am on Friday, said Golam Maola, owner of the house.
Later Monindra was rushed to the DMCH where he died from his injuries at around 11:30am.
Meanwhile, police recovered the body of an unidentified man aged around 65 to 70 from a garden between Flying Club and VVIP Complex of Shahjalal International Airport at around 8:20am on Friday.
Saiful Islam, inspector (investigation) of Airport police station, said police recovered the body after the civil aviation authorities spotted it in the high-secured area and informed them.
Tariquzzaman, subinspector of the same police station, said the body bore no injury mark. But he could not confirm how a man entered the highly secured area.
