The Indian Border Security Force shot a Bangladesh national in Molani border at Haripur upzilla in Thakurgaon on early Saturday.
The victim was identified as Anowar Hossain, 28, a cattle trader and son of Mohammad Shakil of Moradhor village of Haripur upzilla.The Border Guard Bangladesh and locals said that Anowar, along with some cattle traders, went to the Molani border to bring cattle from Indian cattle traders and they were returning with cattle on early Saturday.
Border Guard operational officer Major Quazi Alamgir Hossain said that Anowar was shot by the Sreepur BSF members inside the Indian territory.
He said that the victim was admitted to a hospital in Rangpur. The Border Guard sent a protest note to its Indian counterpart and asked for a flag meeting.
