The body of a boy, who went missing from Wednesday, was recovered from a canal in Sylhet city on Thursday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Rumel Miah, 14, son of late Kala Miah of Fazilchist area in Sylhet, sources in the police said.
The police said the people of the area spotted the body at the canal beside the Blue-Bird High School at around 2:30pm and informed the police.
The body was sent to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations, Monir Ahmed, Kotwali police sub-inspector, told New Age.
‘The boy may have accidentally fallen into the canal from the small bridge adjacent to the school compound’, he added.
