Bangladesh were beaten 2-1 by Bahrain in their fourth and final group match of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania region group VI in Dubai on Friday.
In the day’s first singles match, Bangladesh’s Md. Anwar Hossain lost 2-6, 1-6 to Bahrain’s Yousuf Qoad. Amol Roy then brought Bangladesh level by defeating Abdulkarim Abdulnabi 6-4, 6-2 in the second singles match.
However, Bahrain took the contest when doubles pair Hasan Abdul Nabi and Abdulkarim Abdulnabi claimed a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Bangladeshi duo Amol Roy and Sree Biplob Raam.
Bangladesh exits the competition with one win – against Iraq – and three defeats.
