A half day hartal enforced by CPB-Basad observed peacefully on Monday in the city. The hartal was called protesting the attack on Mujahidul Islam Selim and other leftist leaders on Sunday. Supporting the hartal CPB and BASAD jointly brought out a procession on Monday at 8am from Zindabazaar to the Court Point. Later they organised a rally and demanded the arrest and punishment of the persons responsible for the attack.
Anther Reporter adds from SUST: A half day hartal jointly enforced by Communist Party Bangladesh and Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal was observed peacefully at Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) campus on Monday.
No classes and examinations were held in any department while the presence of the students was very thin on the campus.
The university’s buses did not move from the campus during the hartal. Apart from the transactions of Sonali Bank branch of SUST was not normal. The campus was unlike usual.
