A woman jumped under a running train along with her daughter at Vodra crossing in Rajshahi city Monday midday. The deceased were Shamima Akter Kakoly, 25, wife of Monsur Ali, and their daughter Labony Akter, 2, of village Islamgasi under Atray upazila in Naogaon.
The Rajshahi railway police officer-in-charge, Alomgir Hossain, said Kakoly jumped under the Barendra Express along with her daughter following a family feud with her husband.
She died on the spot and her daughter Labony was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital immediately where the duty-doctor declared her dead, he said.
The bodies were kept in RMCH morgue for autopsy, the OC added.
An unnatural death case was filed with the Government Railway Police, the OC said.
