Masked men slit the throat of a housewife and stabbed her husband into a forest at Bhabanipur Bairagirvita in Bhawalgar union under Gazipur sadar Wednesday night.
The wife was identified as Selina Akter, 27, and the husband as Md Farhad Mollah, 35. Locals said the couple along with their seven-year-old son Sifat went to a private clinic named Medipath Clinic at Chandana Chawrasta area to see the doctor on Wednesday night.
On their way home, a group of 7 to 8 masked miscreants attacked them at Bhabanipur Bairagirvita near a Shal forest.
They repeatedly stabbed the husband Farhad Molla after tying him up and later confirmed Selina Akhter’s death by slitting her throat.
However, their son managed to flee and shouted for help.
Locals recovered Farhad and sent him to the Gazipur Sadar Hospital. But as his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Informed, police recovered the body of Selina around 10:30pm.
On Thursday morning, Selina’s body was sent to Gazipur Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
Knife, rope, shoe and a ladies purse were recovered from the spot, subinspector Md Rafikul Islam of Hotapara police out post said.
‘Perhaps a previous enmity was involved in the incident,’ Rafikul added.
A case was field with Joydebpur police station.
