Bangladeshi M Rubel Hossain emerged boys’ singles event champion in the Asian U-14 Series Tennis beating Pakistani Shahibjada 6-4, 6- 3 in the final held on Saturday at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan at Savar. Pakistani Shahibjada and Irfanul Haque pair clinched the boys’ doubles title defeating Bangladeshi Faruk and Sadin pair 6-2,6-2 in the final. Earlier, on Friday, Prety won double crowns in the girls’ singles and doubles event. Prety first won the girls’ singles crown beating her compatriot Rebeka 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in the final and she, paired with Safina, won the girls’ doubles crown defeating their compatriot Rebeka-Soma Khanam pair 7-6, (3) 6-0 in the final.
BKSP director of administration Hanif Prodhan was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.
