A book on orthopedics and trauma titled ‘A color atlas of limb lengthening, surgical reconstruction and deformity correction by Illizarov technique’ was launched on Monday in the capital. The Russian envoy in Dhaka, Alexander A Nikolaev, Green Life Hospital Ltd and Medical College chairman Shamsuddin Ahmed, Bangladesh Orthopedic Society secretary general Md Abdul Gani Mollah and its president Abdul Awal Rizvi, also National Institute of Trauma and Orthopedics director, among others, unveiled the book at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture.
Written by Illizarov Centre professor Md Mofakhkharul Bari, the book features revelation on trauma and orthopedics problems in human beings with documentation and illustrations.
Speaking at the function, the Russian ambassador termed the book a milestone not only for Bari’s career but also for the medical science in the country.
The Russian Centre in Bangladesh, head Alexander P Demin, Dhaka University teacher Ishrat Khan Barsha, author M Bari and members of his family spoke at the occasion.
