Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited has installed about 12000 new gas connection while the entity is increased 48805 burner in the resident of its distribution areas after the ban of connection withdrawan. Among them around 6000 in the 13 zones under the areas of two Dhaka City Corporations and the rest connections were installed at different areas of Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Gazipur, Manikganj, Tangail and Mymensingh districts.
Titas has been trying to install gas connection to household on the basis of priority of demand note despite pressure from high-ups for new connections, said Engineer Md Nowshad Islam, Managing Director (MD) of Titas Gas.
Distribution companies have a pile of about 150,000 applications from households, industries, tea estates and CNG refueling stations. Of those, around 120,000 are only for households.
