Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament Khaleda Zia on Sunday exchanged Eid greetings by swapping cards on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha. Prime Minster’s protocol officer Sk Aktar Hossain handed over an Eid card on behalf of the Prime Minister to the Opposition Leader’s assistant personal secretary (APS) M Suratuzzaman at the latter’s parliament office at about 1 pm; PM’s press secretary Abul Kalam Azad told reporters. Reciprocating the gesture, Suratuzzaman handed over an Eid card from the opposition Leader to the premiere’s protocol officer at about 1:30pm, said Sayrul Kabir Khan, an official of BNP chairperson’s press wing. The BNP chairperson is now in Singapore for medial check up and is scheduled to return home Sunday night. Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated in the country on October 16.
