A teenage girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at village Kunjoshreepur in Alkora union in Chouddagram upazila of Comilla on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Sabina Yasmin, 16, daughter of Serajul Haque of Kunjoshreepur of the upazila. Chouddagram police station officer-in-charge Ismail Miah said Sabina’s parents had rebuked her over her love affair on the night she hanged herself.
Neighbours took her to the Upazila Health Complex where the duty-doctors declared her dead.
The police recovered the body and sent it to Comilla Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
An unnatural death case was filed.
