BCB Under-16 left-arm spinner Siddikur Rahman Shawon took nine wickets in the first innings of a three-day match against the touring Madhya Pradesh CA Under-16s in Cox’s Bazar, claiming the final five wickets on the second day on Monday. Shawon, a BKSP student, had a hand in the run-out of MPCA opener Rishabh Choubey in the third over at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium on Sunday before taking the rest of the wickets himself. He conceded just 84 runs in 41.1 overs.
Two of his wickets came courtesy lbw decisions
and another came when he clean-bowled Tejraj Singh. Wicket-keeper Jakir Ali Anik took three catches and also produced a stumping.
At the close of day two, the BCB U16s were 71-2 in their first innings after Shawon finished off MPCA U-16s for 290 runs.
