A retired physician of Chittagong University medical centre, who was severely injured after being hit by a train Monday night, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, 61.
Farhad Hossain Khan, deputy registrar of CU, said the engine of a shuttle train of Chittagong University hit Rafiqur at the university station around 9:00pm while he was crossing the rail track to go home, leaving him critically injured. He was taken to CMCH where he succumbed to his injuries around 12:30am.
