Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh will not contest in the next general election as a component of the BNP-led 18-party alliance, but it will carry out anti-government movement alongside the grouping, Mahi B Chowdhury, joint secretary general of the party said on Sunday. Terming the polls under the all-party government as ‘mockery,’ he said his party will rather resist such polls. Mahi was talking to reporters after a meeting with BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office on Sunday night.
“We will not be a component of BNP, but we will continue our movement with it. Besides, we are talking with several other political parties in this regard. We will form an alliance very soon,” he said.
Mahi said, “When the schedule for the election will be announced, we will take to the streets with alternative programmes and resist the polls.”
