Ailing artist Murtaja Baseer has been undergoing treatment at the capital’s United Hospital since Friday. The condition of the 82-year-old painter suffering from cardiac and lung related ailments, was critical, his elder daughter Munira Baseer told The Daily Star quoting doctors.
Earlier he had been admitted to Central Hospital.“The Wings” and “Epitaph for the Martyrs” series are among the finest works of Murtaja who is considered one of the foremost artists of Bangladesh.
He is one of the nine offspring of scholar and linguist Dr Muhammad Shahidullah.
