The band troupe Silverlight won the Robi Singer Hunt contest, the first time introduced competition through social media in Bangladesh.
Solo singer Niger Sultan Mimi secured the second position.
The winner of the competition will win a music album deal worth BDT one lakh from Robi Axiata Ltd.
The grand finale was held on Saturday at the auditorium of Institution of Engineers Bangladesh.
The competition finalists were judged by popular musicians Bappa Majumdar, Tahsan Rahman Khan and George Lincoln D’Costa.
After launching the contest in September, Robi short listed seven winners based on facebook ‘Likes’ and judges’ choice after four rounds of intense competition.
The top seven singers as well as three bands have made it to the final round. The toppers are Rifat Sultan Prince, Musafir Aryan Ahmed, Tanzinur Rahman, Niger Sultan Mimi, Silverlight, Lampost and 5 o’clock.
The Robi Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RobiFanz) witnessed an overwhelming response from across the country, receiving hundreds of submissions in the first phase of the competition, said a press release.

We are particularly proud to be doing so through a first-of-its-kind social media based talent hunt. Individuals often have abilities that go undiscovered.
