Siddikur Rahman will be back to more familiar territories when he tees off for the 750,000-dollar Indonesian Open in Jakarta today. The 29-year-old golfer had a rough time in the ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf last week, where he finished 55th out of 60 players and had a lot of trouble trying to get a grip on the lightning-fast greens of the Royal Melbourne Golf Club. He admitted that he had never played on this kind of surface before.
However, the Jakarta the Pantai Indah Kapuk course might be more suitable to his style of play and the recent experience might stand him in good stead for mounting a challenge here. Siddikur, currently third in the Asian tour Order of Merit, will be teeing off at 7:05am local time alongside Angelo Que of Philippines and David Lipsky of the United States.
However, Siddikur will have to contend a strong field which also includes Scott Hend of Australia, Major champion Retief Goosen of South Africa, two-time winner of US PGA Daniel Chopra reigning Order of Merit winner Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand.
