The Bangladesh Cricket Board is planning to launch the 100-day countdown for next year’s ICC World Twenty20 at 12:00am on December 6, said officials on Saturday.
The mega event, scheduled to be played across three venues from March 16 to April 6, will be hosted by Bangladesh where the teams from 16 countries in the men’s
category will take part along with the women cricketers from 10 countries.
The event will be graced by the presence of national players of both the men’s and women’s teams where fireworks will be displayed.
According to board insiders, a brief opening ceremony may take place though it has not been confirmed by the tournament director of the Local Organising Committee.
Meanwhile, an ICC inspection team are set to arrive today and they are scheduled to visit the Sylhet Divisional Stadium on December 2 as the November 30 deadline for
completing the venue ended on Saturday.
The tournament is scheduled to be played at three venues – Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong and the Sylhet
Divisional Stadium.
