The visiting West Indies Under-19 side defeated their Bangladeshi counterparts by 144 runs in a tour match in Chittagong on Wednesday to start their month-long campaign on the right foot.
Three half-centuries helped West Indies U-19 reach 263-5, and the tourists then dismissed the hosts for 149 runs in 38.2 overs, giving them a boost ahead of the start of their seven-match youth ODI series on Saturday.
West Indian openers Shimron Hetmyre and Jeremy Solanzo gave their side a strong start, putting on 105 runs together before the Hetmyre departed for 56.
Solanzo went on to score 72 runs, while middle-order batsman Brandon King made 51 runs without experiencing any difficulties against the slow bowlers.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Prosenjit Das was the only bright spot for the Junior Tigers, scoring 73 runs at number seven, but his knock hardly affected proceedings as wickets fell at regular intervals from the start of the innings.
Off-spinner Raman Lewis took 3-32 for West Indies U-19.
