The Bangladesh Bank has directed the scheduled banks to keep branches open in Dhaka city, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Narayanganj and Chittagong industrial area on December 7 (Saturday) to facilitate payment of salaries and bonus to garments employees.
Following a request from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, the central bank issued a circular on Wednesday. The circular instructed banks to ensure security of those branches.
