Yogendran Krishnan of Malaysia will face Hsu Jen Hao of Chinese Taipei in the men’s singles final today while Saili Rane of India will play Chinese Taipei’s Pai Hsiao Ma in the women’s singles final on the same day in the Yonex-Sunrise Bangladesh Open International Badminton Challenge. Yogendran Krishnan beat Indian shuttler Subhankar Dey by 21-18, 21-9 points in the first semifinal while Hsu Jen Hao progressed to the final after defeating Indonesian opponent Dharma Alrie Guna by 21-12, 21-11 points.
Saili confirmed the final berth after a 21-16, 17-21, 21-12 points victory over Sannatasah Saniru of Malaysia and Hsiao beat Trupti Murgunde of India by 21-8, 21-10 points to ensure a place in the final.
In the men’s doubles event, Hung Ying Yuan and Cheng Heng Su of Chinese Taipei moved to the final after a 21-13, 17-21, 21-15 points victory against Malaysian pair Jagdish Singh and Wee Long Roni Tan.
The Indian pair of Dhanya Nair and Mohita Sahdev will face their fellow countrywomen, Prajakta Sawant and Arathi Sara Sunil in the final of the women’s doubles today. Dhanya and Mohita defeated compatriots Sanskriti Chhabra and Kristi Das in the semifinal while in the other semifinal, Prajakta and Arathi beat Sri Lankan pair Kapuru Mudiyanselage and U. Weerasinghe.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Ahlawat and Sanskriti Chhabra of India will face Malaysian pair M. Nurizwan and S. Saniru in the final of the mixed doubles after winning their respective semifinal matches against their opponents.
