Malaysian shuttler Yogendran Krishnan and Pai Hsiao Ma of Chinese Taipei clinched the men’s and women’s singles crown respectively in the Yonex-Sunrise Bangladesh Open International Badminton Challenge at Mirpur on Saturday. The final day of the tournament saw Krishnan win the men’s singles title after beating Chinese Taipei’s Hsu Jen Hao in the title-deciding match by 23-21, 21-14 points.
In the women’s singles final, Pai Hsiao defeated India’s Saili Rane by 21-10, 21-13 points.
Meanwhile in the men’s doubles final, Chinese Taipei’s Liang Jui Wei and Liao Kuan Hao overcame their fellow countrymen Hung Ying Yuan and Cheng Heng Su by 21-13, 21-14 points while in the final of the women’s doubles, Indian pair Prajakta Sawant and Arathi Sara Sunil prevailed over their teammates, Dhanya Nair and Mohita Sahdev by 22-20, 15-4 points.
Malaysian duo M. Nurizwan and S. Saniru won the mixed doubles title after beating Indian pair Abhishek Ahlawat and Sanskriti Chhabra in the final by 21-10, 21-11 points.
