Captain Syed Hasibur Rahman emerged champion in the 18th Standard Chartered Golf Tournament which was held at the lush greens of Bhatiary Golf and Country Club (BGCC) in Chittagong on Friday. Around 200 golfers from home and abroad tested their skills at the annual tournament sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank, according to a press release. Major General Sabbir Ahmed, ndc, psc, General Officer Commanding & Area Commander, 24th Infantry Division, Chittagong & Senior Vice President, Bhatiary Golf & Country Club inaugurated the tournament and also distributed prizes amongst the winners in 15 different categories. Jim McCabe, CEO, Mahfuzur Rahman, Head of Chittagong and other senior officials of Standard Chartered Bank were also present on the occasion.
In his speech Jim McCabe said, “This tournament offers a wonderful opportunity to meet the bank’s friends and well-wishers in a truly inspiring atmosphere. Standard Chartered Bank is proud to sponsor such prestigious tournament in Chittagong.”
