Joler Gaan entertained a full-hall audience presenting the band’s popular numbers on Saturday at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre auditorium in Gulshan. The band began the show with the song Sua jao.
The band also played popular numbers from its sole album Atal Joler Gaan such as Jhora pata, Bakul phul and Dure thaka megh and an unreleased number Tomar jonno akash in the evening. The audience enjoyed the band’s signature compositions where improvised instruments like tarabhan and chadrabhan along with the traditional instruments such as flute were played.
Joler Gaan began its journey in 2006 at the World Sufi Festival in Glasgow, Scotland. They subsequently performed at Royal Museum in Edinburgh, Scotland and at the London Mela in London.
Joler Gaan has also collaborated with well-known French musician Abaji and the Scottish musician Colin Blakey.
The band released its first album, Atal Joler Gaan, during Pahela Baishakh in April, 2013, which already got a good response from the audience.
Their second album The Cage is going to be released soon.
