At least 10 people were injured as miscreants vandalised and set fire to the houses of national minority at Godagari in Rajshahi Sunday night.
Among the injured Gonesh Mardy and Sonaton Marady were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Monday as their conditions were critical. Others were admitted to Godagari health complex.
Police said that about 25 to 30 men wearing mask attacked Potaharpur Adibashi Pally and torched five houses. The national minority men and women tried to resist them, that left 10 of them injured.
Godagari police station officer-in-charge Mokaddem Ali said a case was filed with the station in this connection and police were trying to nab the attackers.
Rajshahi police superintendent Alomgir Kabir told New Age that the situation was a depressing one.
‘The culprits will soon be arrested,’ he added.
