Bangladeshi golfer Siddikur Rahman met with chief of Army Staff and president of Kurmitola Golf Club General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan to share his World Cup experience before a reception at the Kurmitola Golf Club on Monday. Siddikur, who won his second Asian Tour tournament in India last month, returned home on Thursday after participating in five tournaments – including the World Cup of Golf – in a row.
After a busy month, Siddikur will take a month-long
break to recover from fatigue.
‘After a long time I am spending one month at home, and in this time I will give my attention to improving my fitness level,’ Siddikur said on Monday.
`I was delighted to see my beloved [Kurmitola Golf] Club give me the reception. I learnt that my World Cup sponsor Grameenphone is planning to give me a huge reception for my performances next week,’ added the golfer, who earned US$225,000 when he won the Hero Indian Open last month.
`I explained my experiences to the chief of Army Staff and he acknowledged me and told me he will give assistance to perform better in future,’ he said.
Kurmitola Golf Club captain Brigadier General GM Kamrul Islam handed a bouquet to Siddikur during the reception program. Kurmitola Golf Club vice president Major Md Shajahan Hossain was also present.
