Muggers shot and injured a young man and snatched Tk 13.5 lakh from his possession in the capital’s Hazaribagh area on Tuesday. The victim was identified as a hardware accessories supplier Abul Kashem, 35, son of Abdul Manik Sarkar, a resident of 25, BDR No 1 Gate.
Police said six miscreants came in two motorcycles and snatched the money from Kashem at gunpoint nearby Dhakeshwari Temple around 11:30am while he along his friend was going to Motijheel by a rickshaw.
During the snatching, the muggers shot Kashem in the right leg when he cried for help, leaving him severely injured.
