A man committed suicide after killing his minor son over family feud in Chouddagram municipality area early Sunday. The victims were identified as Mafiz Miah, 35, and his son Arafat, 5.
Mafiz hails from Sylhet district.
Locals said Mafiz had been staying at the house of his father-in-law Mokhles Miah at Natapara village under the Chouddagram municipality since he married his daughter Ruzina Akhter seven years ago.
However, their marriage was not a happy one as the couple had frequent tiffs over poverty. Mafiz and Ruzina had also quarrel over the issue on Saturday night.
As a sequel to the incident, Mafiz killed and hanged Arafat with the ceiling and later killed himself by hanging from the ceiling in the early hours of Sunday.
