Today is January 5, the birthday of five times National Film Award winning actress Champa. No, there is any formal celebration on the occasion of her birthday. Because before leaving Bangladesh, Champa’s only daughter Esha and her husband Tomal celebrated
the birthday on December 30.
Champa shared her feelings by this way, “Esha and Tomal were going abroad. For this reason, they had arranged a function before my birthday. I enjoyed their celebration. I couldn’t express my feelings in words.”
While asking her how she would pass today, her birthday, Champa replied, “Today is hartal so I have no plan to go outside my residence. I will only talk with my fans over telephone. Everybody pray for me as I can successfully work in media rest of my life properly and to present good works for my fans.”
It may be mentioned that Champa acted last movie was ‘Rupgawal,’ directed by Habibur Rahman Habib.
Now Champa acted drama serial ‘Second Innings,’ directed by Idris Haider, is being aired on Asian TV now.
It may be mentioned that Champa acted first movie was late Shibli Sadik directed ‘Tin Konya.’ As heroine, Champa acted first movie was ‘Nishpap,’ directed by hero Alamgir.
Champa acted other mentionable movies are: ‘Bheja Chokh,’ ‘Sohojatri,’ ‘Neetiban,’ ‘Kashem Malar Prem,’ ‘Abujh Hridoy,’ ‘Bashona,’ ‘Andho Prem,’ ‘Prem Diwana,’ ‘Banechha Pori,’ ‘Jogajog,’ ‘Tyagh,’ ‘Gorjon,’ among others.
Champa firstly received National Film Award and Kolkata’s ‘Jyoti Basu Award’ to perform in movie ‘Padma Nadir Majhi.’ To perform in movies ‘Anyo Jibon,’ ‘Uttor-er Khep,’ ‘Shashti’ and ‘Chandragrahan,’ Champa also got the National Film Awards later.
