Power Division missed its annual development programme implementation target for the first six months of the current fiscal year, the division’s data released on Sunday showed.
In July-December of the FY 2013-2014, development projects implementing agencies in the power sector implemented 23.92 per cent of the ADP against the target of 32.93 per cent, the data showed.
The progress in implementation of ADP also dropped by 3.2 per cent compared with that of the corresponding period of the last fiscal year when ADP implementation was 27.12 per cent.
At a meeting on review of the progress of ADP implementation, state minister for power Nasrul Hamid on Sunday asked the project directors of the agencies under the division to complete development projects timely.
According to the data, Power Division spent Tk 2,094.77 crore in its 56 development projects.
Of the amount, the government contributed Tk 1,543.96 crore or 29.55 per cent and the share of the foreign loans and grants in the fund was Tk 550.80 crore or 15.60 per cent.
The budget for the FY 2013-14 earmarked Tk 65,872 crore for the ADP. Of the amount, Tk 8,756.14 crore was allocated for Power Division.
