The government will soon reduce the internet price to facilitate country’s growth, said post, telecom and ICT state-minister Zunaid Ahmed on Wednesday.
‘We are working with sincerity on the issue and hope to deliver a good news soon,’ he told reporters at his office on the day. He said that the growth of the country depends on connectivity which requires high speed and affordable internet.
‘The flow of information will also help to reduce corruption,’ he said.
The government earlier reduced the internet price in several phases but the price still remains high.
Internet service providers and the mobile companies also did not slash the price in accordance with government rate.
Zunaid said IT village will be set up in each district of the country to supplement the concept of ‘Digital Bangladesh’ by expanding the IT industry.
