ChilD artistes celebrated the National Children Day through music and dance recitals at a vibrant programme held at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Monday.
The programme was organised by the academy in celebration of National Children Day and also the 94th birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding president of Bangladesh.The show began with a group dance recital by child artistes, synchronised with popular peoples’ song Saare Sat Koti Manusher. The dancers, who are artistes of dance organisation Spondon, looked spectacular and powerful as they moved in their black outfits. The artistes also performed with Joto Din Robey Padma Meghna at the programme.
Child artistes of dance troupe Bhabna, on the other hand, presented an entertaining group recital synchronised with Se Din Ar Koto Durey.
A message for a secular Bangla was conveyed through a dance recital by the artistes of Nandan Lalitakala Kendra, synchronised with the song Banglar Hindu Banglar Boddho.
A chorus presentation by the child artistes of Dhrubo Shishu Kishor Sanghatan received acclamation from the audience for rendering the song Joy Hok Joy Hok. Child artistes of Ranata Shilpy Goshthi rendered two songs- Jonmodiney Kore Gechho Rini and Khoka Theke Jatir Pita- at the programme eulogising Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Besides children, seasoned singers also contributed to the programme through solo recitals.
Noted singer Sujit Mustafa presented Hey Mohanayak, while Anima Mukti Gomes rendered the patriotic song Bangladeshe Jonmo Amar at the programme.
Earlier, a discussion session was held, where noted poet Nirmalendu Goon delivered speech as a special guest in presence of Liaquat Ali Lucky, director general of the academy, and Sohrab Uddin, director of the music and dance department of the academy.
Audience from all age groups enjoyed the show. Rajib, who is a student of class five at a government school, came with his father to attend the show. ‘I really liked the show, particularly the dances,’ said Rajib.
